Katherine Tierney is a Senior Strategist within Client Needs Research, responsible for retirement and tax topics. The Client Needs Research team develops and communicates advice and guidance for client needs, including retirement, education, preparing for the unexpected and leaving a legacy. Katherine is also a member of the Investment Policy Committee's (IPC) U.S. Client Needs Subcommittee (CNSC), which provides oversight of IPC financial planning advice and guidance for the U.S.
Katherine has more than 20 years of financial services and retirement experience. Prior to her current role, Katherine served in a variety of roles at Edward Jones, including Senior IRA Product Leader, digital product manager of the firm's goals-based planning system, and leader of the managed investments team in Product Review. Prior roles outside of Edward Jones include equity research at A.G. Edwards.
Katherine graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an emphasis in finance. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2008 and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ®designation in 2022.
Katherine is a contributor to Edward Jones Perspective and has been quoted in various publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Kiplinger and GOBankingRates.
Katherine and her husband, Jeff, have two children: Aiden and Jaxon.
